About Lacey

Lacey of Photography by Laceymarie is a mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She has always been drawn to stories and gains inspiration from the people in front of her lens. She considers photography a journey in which time stands still; forever. A place where memories are never lost and feeling is always felt. A lover of all things beautiful, spiritual, and emotional for as long as she can remember,  her style is reflective of those passions. Her photographs grasp the intangible moments and she considers herself blessed to be a keeper of time. Her warm nature and kind heart will put you at ease as she tells your story in a way that is unique to you. She would love to meet you, get to know you, and give you a reflection of her joyful lens and the soul of a moment that is yours.

Are you inspired, would you like for me to tell your story? Here are some helpful hints to consider when booking your session. I love to create custom experiences for my clients. Each occasion, person and family is different and I like to get to know you so I can help bring out the best you. From finding the perfect location to the styling of your outfits and session, I will help you each step of the way. Sessions generally last anywhere from an hour to two hours and we will do a combination of posed and candid looks. I have a fun and laid back approach and I want you to have fun, just be you and let me do the rest!

First of all, congratulations on the most exciting journey of your life! You are going to be a parent and you want to capture this rapidly changing time in your life, wonderful! Baby bumps look the best anywhere from 26 to 32 weeks, don’t wait too long to schedule these! Newborn babies are the closest thing to heaven and I am so grateful when I am invited into your life during this precious time. My style when photographing newborns is lifestyle, which means there is not a lot of posing and looking at the camera. There is nothing more beautiful to me than a mother and father adoring their brand new miracle as well as any other little ones who have become a bit bigger with the new addition. These sessions are most comfortable and relaxed when your baby is 2 weeks-4 weeks old. Let’s get something on the calendar.

Families are the greatest gift we are given so I am honored to be a part of documenting yours. Tell me the look and feel of the style you are wanting for your session, if you have a few locations and tentative dates that is helpful and then contact me, and we’ll get something fabulous worked out! These sessions are generally in the evening two hours before sunset or early in the morning no more than two hours after sunrise, so please keep that in mind when looking at dates.

Congratulations on your graduation! I love working with Seniors girls and have teamed up with some amazing women to create a Senior Experience that is completely unique to YOU. The Senior Experience includes a complimentary consultation prior to the shoot to discuss your style and overall concept for your shoot. You will meet with a stylist, a hair and makeup artist and me to plan for your experience. Your session will be scheduled at your initial consulation. We are also looking for Senior Representatives each Spring for upcoming Seniors and there are lots of fun perks for our Senior Reps, so let me know if this is something you might be interested in. Contact me with a few dates in the evening after 5 to schedule your initial consultation.

Congratulations on your engagement! One of my favorite things in the world is to be your photographer during one of the most special and sometime stressful days of your life. Contact me with your name, fiance’s name, date and venue and any other information that is helpful. I am selective when booking weddings to ensure that we are a good fit. I want you to be inspired by my work and for me to be able to tell your love story in a timeless way that will move you for decades to come. It is my intention for my brides and grooms and extended family to not only love their photos but to feel as comfortable with me as they would a trusted friend. By booking fewer weddings I am able to get to know you and give you the highest quality and service that you deserve, along with allowing me to work alongside other amazing wedding photographers who inspire me and help me to grow in this ever evolving art. These relationships with other photographers and vendors allow me to help you out as much as possible during the course of your wedding planning and day. I can’t wait to hear from you!

For all sessions, please send me an email or click the contact button on this page to leave me a detailed message. I look forward to meeting you.

So we have you scheduled and you are excited about your shoot… now what? What do I wear? This one particular question is essential to styling your shoot and it can make a huge difference in how your pictures turn out. These photos are going to be with you forever so let’s take some time to pick out a wardrobe inspiration that fits you and anyone else who will be in the photos with you.

~Family Sessions:
Wear something that everyone will feel comfortable in that complements the look and feel of your particular shoot. Once you are booked we will work together to come up with a style and location for your session that expresses your family’s personality. The location and the style you are wanting will determine what type of clothing you will want to choose. Prints or Solids? mix and match a little of both, with an emphasis on solids complementing the colors that are in the prints. If you are able, choose one person to wear a print of some type, and build everyone else’s clothing around that. The print can be stripes, plaid, or some other type, but I would beware of large and overwhelming prints unless that is your style all of the time. Wear something that complements your body type, form fitting clothing is not always the most flattering in photos. Layering adds texture and is especially important for the ladies. Layers (cardigan, blazer, scarf, necklaces and other accessories) are flattering on all women, and they add interest and depth creating more visual interest and a better photograph. In photographs, more is often better. Don’t be afraid of color! Look around your home for color inspiration, after all these are going to be on your wall! I am here to help you with feedback and can send inspiration photos. Utilize Pinterest, as it is such a valuable visual resource. Please feel free to send me anything you find that you like. The more I know about you, the better your shoot will be.
*styling and hair and makeup packages are an option if you would like to further customize your shoot, I work with the best in town.

~Engagement Sessions: The same as above is true for engagement sessions as well as an extra set of outfits to change into. Most couples like to have a dressy look and then a more casual look. Ladies, I highly recommend getting your hair and makeup done and some styling for engagement shoots, it makes a huge difference in your photos and it is such a fun experience.

~Senior Sessions: The Senior Experience that we offer will walk you through each outfit and styling with a professional stylist and hair and makeup artist. Each session is unique to YOU and we will guide you every step of the way.
“The photography session with Photography by Laceymarie, Golden Bones Boutique, and Adore Makeup Salon was so much fun, because they based the entire shoot off of me. These photos have such a natural, personal element to them, and they are definitely not over-edited. The photos will forever capture who I am as a passionate and joyful individual.” Brenna Bales, Westlake High School senior.

My gratitude to you for choosing me as your photographer. I am honored to capture these precious memories for you and your loved ones. So… Your date is scheduled, location and meeting time is determined, now I will send you a “Portrait Agreement”. This form will need to be signed and brought with you to the session along with your session fee. If you have questions throughout the process, do not hesitate to contact me.

Once the business end is conducted, then comes the fun of coordinating wardrobe choices and planning for your session! Check out the “What to Wear” link to see some tips on choosing outfits. Please let me know if you have any ideas, props, or special items you would like to use in your session. I have a fun and laid back approach to my shoots. I will use a combination of directing and posing and then stepping back to capture you interacting candidly. Most people freeze up in front of the camera or feel uncomfortable, so my job is to make it easier and more relaxing for you as well as capture beautiful moments to treasure for generations to come. My intention is for you and your loved ones to not only love your photos but to enjoy the experience of getting your photos taken as well. I hope to be your lifetime photographer.

Now that’s a wrap and I know what you are thinking… I hope that went okay and we got a few good ones, right? I will post a little sneak peek to ease the anticipation and start editing your session. The complete gallery will be ready no more than 2 weeks later. Then the task of choosing which amazing photos you would like as your own begins! Depending upon what package you have purchased you will choose your number of favorites in the comfort of your own home and I will send you a download link to those photos. All packages include hi/resolution images and 50% off printing of those images. Now you are smiling and my job is done and you get to relive all those moments forever. You are welcome, and I am grateful to YOU for allowing me be your timekeeper.

See Investment for more information on packages.
